About Arvor Sea Kayaking, Cornwall

Arvor Principal Kayaking Instructor – Gary Bullen

Gary Bullen is the principal of Arvor Sea Kayaking. A kayaking and outdoors enthusiast/adventurer who has lived and kayaked in the Falmouth area all his life, Gary founded Arvor Sea Kayaking in 2005 after completing a career as a Physical Training Instructor in the Royal Marines.  During his career he specialised in working in extreme environments and has led expeditions to the North and South Poles. During off-peak times Gary is a team leader for www.extremeworld races.com events.

Gary began paddling in 1985 on rivers in North Wales.  Since then his sea paddling has taken him to Scotland, North Wales, Cyprus and Fiji – but for Gary, craggy rocks and sheltered sandy beaches of Cornwall make this the best place in the world to kayak.

Gary’s coaching and teaching work has led him to gain a Certificate in Education. An experienced teacher of kayakers of all ages and abilities (from nervous beginners to advanced paddlers), Gary works with individuals, school groups and private groups to provide kayak sessions which are exciting, fun, informative and safe.

His passion for water-based activities has enabled him to acquire the following senior qualifications:

  • B.C.U (British Canoe Union) - Level 3 Sea Kayak Instructor
  • B.C.U - 5 star trained
